
Michael Zimmerman is a graduate of the University of Toronto, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and an LL.B., and was subsequently called to the Bar of Ontario. During his time at U of T, he excelled athletically as the No. 1 singles and doubles player on the Intercollegiate Tennis Team, and also represented the university on its Intercollegiate Squash Teams. He achieved Top 20 national rankings in Canada in both tennis and table tennis.
Over the course of his distinguished career, Michael has held several prominent coaching and leadership roles. He served as Head Coach at both Wingfield Indoor Racquet Clubs and Mayfair West Racquet Club, later becoming the Director of Tennis for all Mayfair Racquet Clubs, a position he held for 36 years. He went on to serve as General Manager and Senior Tennis Coach at Toronto Tennis City for 12 years.
Currently, Michael is a Tennis Coach at the Toronto Lawn Tennis Club, where he continues to bring his extensive coaching experience, technical expertise, and passion for player development to the court.
He is certified as a Tennis Canada Club Pro 2 and remains active in the tennis community as the host of a tennis podcast. Outside of tennis, his interests include weight training and reading.

Chet Zimmerman is a graduate of Western University, where he completed a double major in English and History and was deeply involved in student life, serving in multiple executive roles across university clubs.
Based in Waterloo, Chet is a full-time tennis coach working at Westmount Golf & Country Club and The Club at Northfield, and he has led club and high-performance programs with ACE Tennis.
He is the Founder of The Pickle League and co-host of Mike and Chet’s Tennis Podcast. Chet brings hands-on experience running Mini Tennis, private lessons, adult clinics, and structured player development programs.
Chet now designs and runs Ultimate Tennis Training’s strength and conditioning program. He builds tennis-specific, periodized S&C curricula that begin with movement and strength screening and progress through corrective work, targeted strength progressions, power development, and on-court transfer strategies. His coaching blends technical detail and biomechanics with mental and match-play development, and he has worked with athletes of all ages and levels, from beginners to competitive players.
Certifications & Qualifications
Active in the local racquet community, Chet focuses on growing participation while helping players improve in a fun, measurable way. In his spare time he enjoys boxing, basketball, reading, weight training, and, of course, playing tennis.
