Meet the Coaches

Two generations. One standard: expert coaching that produces results.

Michael Zimmerman — Toronto

Michael Zimmerman is a graduate of the University of Toronto, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and an LL.B., and was subsequently called to the Bar of Ontario. During his time at U of T, he excelled athletically as the No. 1 singles and doubles player on the Intercollegiate Tennis Team, and also represented the university on its Intercollegiate Squash Teams. He achieved Top 20 national rankings in Canada in both tennis and table tennis.

Over the course of his distinguished career, Michael has held several prominent coaching and leadership roles. He served as Head Coach at both Wingfield Indoor Racquet Clubs and Mayfair West Racquet Club, later becoming the Director of Tennis for all Mayfair Racquet Clubs, a position he held for 36 years. He went on to serve as General Manager and Senior Tennis Coach at Toronto Tennis City for 12 years.

Currently, Michael is a Tennis Coach at the Toronto Lawn Tennis Club, where he continues to bring his extensive coaching experience, technical expertise, and passion for player development to the court.

He is certified as a Tennis Canada Club Pro 2 and remains active in the tennis community as the host of a tennis podcast. Outside of tennis, his interests include weight training and reading.
